Self-development.

Long-time no see innit?

Lol, it’s raining and I just submitted a work I did for a client and I’m here reflecting on how the past month has been.

First of, Alhamdulillah. I’m grateful for everything, the good days and the bad days.

I had a long conversation with one of my closest friends about a month ago and I was explaining to him how tired I was, I was….

Okay scratch that, lol this sounds crazy but I’m writing this blog post in bits. Now it’s midnight, four days after I wrote those four paragraphs above. Everywhere is quiet and I feel at peace.

So I think I was telling y’all about how I was tired a month ago and it felt like my life was on stand still. I see myself as a very focused human and sometimes I get really overwhelmed when things aren’t going as planned.

I badly wanted to monetise my writing skills and be more productive, so I took a step. I enrolled for a Copywriting class and in my sister’s words “I carried the class on my head like my life depended on it”.

After the class, I got certified and opened an Upwork account as a freelance copywriter and content creator.

So after writing about 9 proposals, reading ebooks and watching several YouTube videos on how to land your first job on Upwork; one of my proposals was accepted, I had an interview and I got my first writing gig!

Bruhhh I was excited! I get to work with an international jewellery brand as their copywriter on a long term basis. And oh my team members are so lovely! It’s barely been a week since I started but I wake up every day grateful for taking that step towards achieving one of my dreams of getting paid as a writer.

Alhamdulillah really.

So here I am again on a different day and this time I am concluding this blog post and publishing it because I’ve had many people ask “why haven’t you posted on your blog?” and different questions in that line.

Scrolling up to read all that I’ve written in previous paragraphs and I’m like do I actually have to say this to the world but tell me why shouldn’t I? There are probably so many people out there that needs this motivation.

Now this is me speaking to your soul my dear reader; no matter how dark it feels like this stage of your life is, never give up ooh, chin up and get to work!

Wake up every morning with the mindset of a winner, build yourself every day, take courses, learn skills, apply for jobs, work on that start up idea you’ve had for a while now, build your brand, please do something, don’t be mediocre.

Trust me, there is light at the end of the tunnel and the world isn’t even ready for your greatness. So please don’t stop working on yourself, self- development is key!

Pinky promise? Oh yassss!

Till I come your way next time, stay safe.

Lots of love,

Noble.
